Te Kei a te Kura (Mirrored)

Kia ora everyone,

This is an old video that has been altered to help our tamariki learn our school song "Te Kei a te Kura". It has been flipped around so that the children can mirror the actions from the video and be on the correct side. The words with their translation are below.

Ka tu ka tu, taku kuru hauhunga ko te
kura Ara raki tu tonu e

Ka noho au ki te poho o te Kura Araraki nei e

Matauranga ko te kaupapa kimi ai tatou e

Ko te pou tuatahi ka Whakaute ra
tetahi i tetahi e

Tuarua whai ake ki te Hiranga, taumata ke atu e

Tuatoru Ngawaritia nga rerenga ketanga e

Tuawha kia tipu te Hinengaro

Auaha e

Tuarima kia Pono, ka tu whakawhirinaki e

Koia ra nga pouwhare, ture o tauira,

me nga kaiako e

Kia korowaitia te kohikohinga,

hei whanau kotahi e

“Akongia mo Apopo” tama ma, kohine ma
“Akongia mo Apopo” tama ma, kohine ma

Ara, ka tu! Ka tu!
Taku kuru hauhunga!
Ko te Kura Araraki
Tu tonu e!
Aue hi!

Indeed, stand true! Stand true!
My shelter from the storm!
North Street School

I dwell within the nurture of North St School

Knowledge is the reason for which we strive

The first of our inherent values is Respect for one another

The second is to seek Excellence – to always set sights high

Third is Acceptance of each other’s differences
Fourthly, is to allow a place where Creativity is free to flourish

Fifth, is Honesty, that we may trust one another
These are the pillars of our school, our values
to be modeled by student and staff alike

Let this gathering of the many be enveloped
in the unity of one big family

“Learn for Tomorrow”, boys and girls
“Learn for Tomorrow”, boys and girls

Indeed, stand true! Stand true!
My shelter from the storm!
North Street School
stand forever!
Aue hi!
