Mathletics
Kia ora e te whānau,
We have Matheltics up and running now at school. If you have paid your mathletics fee then your child's account has been activated. We have made the goal to get our class into the top 100 classes in the world. You kids will be keen to get on with their homework tonight and hopefully for the rest of the year.

CAMPING
In the
holidays I went to Newine with Wendy to go camping.
The first
thing I did was the program. We played some games and the first game was poison
ball. We also did some arts and crafts and some sports.
Then I went
down the water slide and I did some flips. I went down really fast. I did some
rolls and I went around really fast and it was really, really fun.
I liked
going camping.

GOING TO WELLINGTON
In the holidays I went to
Wellington on Christmas day. I went there with my Nan Koko and my uncles .
Firstly we stopped at the
airport to pick up my uncle, my aunty and my cousin, they took awhile.
Then we went to the pools,
it was a lot of fun. We were doing ‘manus’ and diving.
After that we went home
and had a mean feed. We had chicken, pork, stuffing and more. After our kai we
all went to the lounge and they started singing maori songs.
Lastly we opened heaps of
presents, it was fun.

Birthday
Tyreses’ birthday
In the
weekend some of Tyreses’ cousins and friends came over to Tyreses’ house to celebrate his birthday.
First we ate
some pizza. The pizza was delicious. Clint drove down to pizza hut and got us
meat lovers.
Then we went
to the Ledo to have a pool party. First we drove to the Ledo and then got
change in to our togs. Secondly Mumuz and I went on the hydro slide. We raced
up the stairs and went down the slide to see who would win. Mumuz won. Thirdly
Mumuz and I went into the warmest pool. Then all of Tyreses’ cousins and friends got out of the pool and
got changed into their clothes.
After that
we all drove back home to have a sleep over at Tyreses’ house. I loved playing at Tyreses’ party. By Holly
Camping
In the
holidays my family and I went down to Wellington to go camping for ten days.
The first
thing we did was go kayaking. We would try and flip people off their kayak. At
first it was hard but I got into the action. I tried to sink the Bismark, the
one that beats everyone. So he and I had a water fight, but he won because he’s
the Bismark.
At night we
had a game of spotlight and it was awesome. The first thing I did was hide with
my friends Sam and Josh. We had to kick the bucket to win and so we were on the
move. I just stayed there in the bush with Josh, BUT then the light pointed at
me and we ‘were out’. We played five more intense games and then we went to
bed.
Camping is
my favourite thing of the year.

How far I'll go
I've been staring at the edge of the water
'Long as I can remember, never really knowing why
I wish I could be the perfect daughter
But I come back to the water, no matter how hard I try
Every turn I take, every trail I track
Every path I make, every road leads back
To the place I know, where I can not go, though I long to be
See the line where the sky meets the sea? It calls me
And no one knows, how far it goes
If the wind in my sail on the sea stays behind me
One day I'll know, if I go there's just no telling how far I'll go
Go-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Go-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Go-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
Go-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
I know everybody on this island, seems so happy on this island
Everything is by design
I know everybody on this island has a role on this island
So maybe I can roll with mine
I can lead with pride, I can make us strong
I'll be satisfied if I play along
But the voice inside sings a different song
What is wrong with me?
See the light as it shines on the sea? It's blinding
But no one knows, how deep it goes
And it seems like it's calling out to me, so come find me
And let me know, what's beyond that line, will I cross that line?
See the line where the sky meets the sea? It calls me
And no one knows, how far it goes
If the wind on my sail in t he sea stays behind me
One day I'll know, how far I'll go
