Karakia

KARAKIA TIMATANGA
The following prayer asks GOD to bless everyone who has gathered. The
prayer also asks that the families that are still at home be looked after as well as
those who are sick, poor and grieving.

E TE MATUA KAHA RAWA
E te Matua kaha rawa, ka inoi ki a koe
Kia Manaakitia mai mātou i tēnei rā/ata/ahiahi/pō
Kia manaakitia o mātou whanau
Kei ngā kāinga maha.
Manaakitia te hunga e māuiui ana, e rawakore
ana, e pani ana
Ūhia mai ō tōmairangi atawhai
Ki runga i a mātou katoa I tēnei rā/ata/ahiahi/pō
Korōriatia ki tō ingoa tapu
Āmine

Our heavenly FATHER we pray to you to look after
us this day/morning/afternoon/night
Please look after our families in our many homes
Look after those who are sick, poor, and grieving
Cover us all the day with your rays of love
Glory to your sacred name
Amen

E TE ATUA KAHA RAWA
E te Atua kaha rawa o ngā mano,
Tēnei te whakamoemiti atu ki a koe
Mo tēnei huihuinga o mātou.
Arahina mai mātou
Kia ū ki te tika, ki te pono
Tukua mai tō wairua tapu
Hei manaaki, hei arahi, hei tiaki hoki i a mātou
Tēnei mātou e tūohu nei ki mua i tō aroaro
Ka tuku i tēnei inoi ki a koe
I runga i te ingoa tapu o tō mātou Kaiwhakaora a
Ihu Karaiti.
Āmine

To the GOD of the multitudes, we thank you for the
opportunity given to us to gather together
Guide us so we do what is correct and true
Send your holy spirit to nurture, guide and protect us.
We bow before you in humility
We give this prayer in the name of our saviour
JESUS CHRIST
Amen

He mea tito hei waiata a-iwi i te Hekpetema it te tau 2007. Na Doug Ruki nga kupu, na Sonny Tahi te rangi. This waiata was composed in 2007 as a tribal anthem. It sings of the journey of Maniapoto, Kinohaku and Rongorito from their home, Ngaherenga.
